Some day, when I have some time (hah!) I’d love to open up the system behind the Philly New Media Hub to other groups/locations. Maybe there’s a community of knitters in Seattle that would enjoy having their own site, or maybe a group of green building enthusiasts in Boulder. Whoever it is, I think a lot of communities would love a way to bring their collective thoughts and events into one place.

With that in mind, some day I’ll be moving to a less location/topic specific name. I’ve come up with a few ideas, but either the domains are taken, or I’m not particularly happy with them, so I thought I get som feedback from y’all on naming ideas. Here are a few ideas I came up with:

Communify (taken)

InstantCommunity (taken)

Unitefy (available)

GroupHub (hmm, seems to be taken! heh)

I haven’t put a whole lot of thought into it, and honestly I have no idea when I’ll find the time to actually update the system, but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to think about names now. If anyone has an idea, please e-mail me, reply to this post, or hit me up on twitter.

Over the weekend I made a few quick updates to the Philly New Media Hub. Now you can get aggregated content in a number of formats:

On The Web (blogs, events, and mailing lists)

Via Twitter (blogs and events)

I’m also toying with the idea of a daily/weekly newsletter option. Let me know if you’re interested. Also let me know if there’s some other way you’d like to access the content.
